More premium than traditional gold plating, vermeil is an extra thick layer of real gold over solid sterling silver. We use 14k or 18k gold depending on the piece.

antennae broke off within 2 days of wearing them
i was given a gift card for this place and got some silver snails. i was a bit disappointed that within 48 hours of wearing them, the antennae/eyes of both snails had broken off. i wasn't doing anything crazy that would give them reason to break. don't want to wear them anymore because they now look like blobs on my ear :( otherwise super cute though!
